brigid: A fat faced baby in a cap is stuffed into a mail sack worn by a postal carrier. (what.)
Having been kicked in the pants by a special someone, I'm going to try really hard to post a review of a webcomic every day this week.

I also want to stick to a theme this week.

This weeks' theme? YOUNG ADULT WEB COMICS, webcomics aimed at a younger audience.

I'm especially looking at Bad Machinery, Monster Pulse, Paranatural, Selkie,What Birds Know.

Any other suggestions? Link us up in comments here OR write and post your own reviews!

EDIT TO ADD:

Now that I think about it, most (all?) of these aren't YA, they're more middle school.

oh man I am glad you are making posts here!

I'm a bit on the fence though, is Bad Machinery really a YA comic, or does it just have YA characters? That is, I hadn't though before about it being YA, but I suppose it is in a way? Does it actually set out to be?

It just might be that I do not have a good conception of what a YA work is, specifically--as soon as I could start reading popular adult fare as a youngster I did so indiscriminately with YA stuff along side it. It might be because I went straight from reading the predecessor Scary-Go-Round, which was not YA at all I think, and so have that hanging over it. Heaven only knows there's certain labeled YA fiction I've read lately such as Liar and Feed that are far more explicit or brutal than I've expected to be generally accepted as YA fiction. I think maybe I unfairly attribute the genre as needing to appease people who faint at mentions of sexytimes.

Amya is an okay comic that I think is in the young adult category.

Everblue is good.

Halflight started out with an interesting idea but I'm wondering where it's going now.

Fey Winds is sort of like Halflight as far as my thoughts on it go.

Kiwi Blitz is a lot of fun to read.

Red's Planet is one I haven't read all of the archives for but I've enjoyed what I have seen.

Vattu might be a little too out there for some young readers but it (along with Rice Boy and Order of Tales) might still be of interest.

As The Crow Flies might count?

Oh I am SO GLAD this community is coming back to life! Sadly my comic isn't done yet so I can't even do a shameless self-promo.
